Our journey began in 2006, providing Point of Sale and Inventory Management solutions to MTN Ivory Coast. Since then, we've worked with MTN in Afghanistan, Cameroon, Ghana, Benin, and South Africa, fostering strong relationships along the way.

Itemate Solutions collaborated with MTN on the Boost Project, which aimed to migrate MTN's ERP system from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Fusion in Ghana, Cameroon, and Benin. The project also included redesigning and implementing a new Point of Sale and Inventory Management solution for MTN. Completing these parallel projects in three countries within two years marks an incredible achievement for the team.

Our Challenge

Our challenge was twofold: first, to redesign and build an enterprise solution that would deliver a world-class product to our clients, leveraging the latest technologies. Secondly, we had to execute this project in parallel with a major integration effort involving the migration from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Fusion.

Our Solution

Through close collaboration between the Itemate Solutions Product and Project Teams, as well as strong partnerships with MTN, Oracle, TechMahindra, and other third-party entities, we successfully accomplished the completion of two significant parallel projects within a span of two years.

Our Outcome

Between May 2022 and February 2023 the Phoenix POS and Oracle Fusion upgrades were implemented successfully in Cameroon, Benin and Ghana.

The rise of Phoenix

The MTN Boost Project involved upgrading MTN Group’s Enterprise Resource Planning from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Fusion for MTN Cameroon, Benin, and Ghana.

As part of the Boost Project which kicked off in late 2020, Itemate Solutions designed, built, and implemented Phoenix POS, our latest Point of Sale and Inventory Management solution. Our team worked closely with MTN Operating Company Teams, MTN Shared Services Hub (SSH) Team, TechMahindra, Oracle, and other third-party vendors to fully integrate our POS solution with Oracle Fusion. Our robust integrations manage real time and end-of-day Financial and Inventory synchronization between the in-country West Africa service centres and SSH in Johannesburg.
Leveraging our experience in telecommunications, POS, and inventory management, the Itemate team designed and built Phoenix POS, a world-class solution built on the latest technologies. The efficient design of the transactional flows and performance gains from the latest technologies provide our clients and their customers with an exceptional user experience. The rich list of features and modules cater to the diverse operational requirements of the telecommunications industry and their customers worldwide, including both first-world and developing countries.

It has been a pleasure to work with MTN, with whom we have had a partnership since 2006, and we look forward to continuing our mutually successful relationship.
